StarCraft - 8/10
Pushed back and back for the longest time. This game is
the next installment from Blizzard. The A.I. is
different from warcraft, they seem to build in according
to what you are building.
If you think your skillz from Warcraft will take you far
think again. This game barely resembles the famed
warcraft engine. It looks the same, but its noticeable
different. The units are hard to control for all their
special abilities. Think off all your units as blood
ogres or death knights. There is a lot to do at one
time, if you wish to succeed. The easiest is the
terrans, but they are weak. The hardest to control, I
believe are the zerg. They get some getting used to.
Graphics are nice, but you need five hands to control
your army. The neat thing in multiplay, is the team
mode. Where you and your buddy control one race, and
share resources. This is difficult due to the lack of
funds and you both are fighting to buy stuff.
The only thing that was bad about the game, was the cheats were out before the game was. Don't use the cheats if you want a challenge. It will ruin the game for you. This game is suppose to be hard. One hint about missions. Look at the mission objectives, some times you can use a transport and finish it quick. Also I think, if you destroy all the Main buildings(drone, probe, scv producers) I think it will end the mission successfully.
In addition the A.I. in the custom maps seems to be very
stupid. They are barely a challenge, but playing with
people on battle.net seems to fix the problem of a
challenging opponent.
