MechWarrior Series - Rating 9/10
MechWarrior 2, Ghost Bear Legacy, And Mercenaries are all
basically the same thing. Mercenaries has an improved
A.I., but it is no different.
This game brings to life the old board game and books to the virtual reality. The ultimate is Virtual World Pods.
It has a great engine and graphics, and the ultimate
deathmatch. The MechWarrior Series has great game play,
and the story line you follow is the familiar plot in the
novels. You are allowed to customize your mechs to what
you like and the missions are challenging. Rarely will
you escape by the level of your skill. This game will
give you about a month worth of good game time, but it
might get repetitive.
The addition of 3D textured graphics and plans for
MechWarrior 3 and 4 already underway, this series will
have a long life. One flaw is that the series is plagued
by setbacks and delays in releasing the game. With the
change to MicroProse this might fix some of the problems,
but I believe F.A.S.A. is at fault with constant changes
strict guidelines.
